Would you like to become a homeowner? Are you not sure whether you can afford to be or how to go about it? Attend KulshanCLT's HomeBuyer Education course series and empower yourself with the information you need to become a successful homeowner.
The HomeBuyer Education Course consists of two 3-hour evening classes or one 6-hour weekend class.
In the first class, taught by a local mortgage lender, you will learn how to shop for a lender, how to identify credit issues and address them, how much money you will need, and how to select a loan product. During the second class you will learn the details of purchasing a home including how to shop for a real estate professional, how to shop for and select the best home for your needs, negotiating the purchase price and what happens at closing. In this second class there will be information presented by numerous housing professionals including such topics as the importance of a home inspection, foreclosure prevention, budgeting for on-going home maintenance and what that maintenance might entail.
You must attend either the two 3-hour classes or the one 6-hour class to obtain a certificate. The certificate allows you to take advantage of special loan products and is a requirement for any of the Washington State Housing Finance Commission's affordable loan products.
